The couple's rep Mara Buxbaum, has confirmed to PEOPLE, but no other details were known about their divorce.
Robin Wright and Sean Penn were wedded in 1996 and have two children together, Hopper Jack, 14, and Dylan Frances, 16. Before this marriage, Sean Penn was previously married to the material girl Madonna.
