TheSun report said forensic tests provided by the Forensic Science Services in Birmingham (FSS) carried out in Britain strongly back the theory that Missing Madeleine McCann was possibly murdered in the holiday apartment in Praia da Luz of Portugal.
Experts are focusing on samples taken from the floor there and also from the boot of the McCanns’ hire car — locations said to be “key” to solving the mystery.
In interviews last week, cops also told Kate they had found her daughter’s blood on the flat’s window sill and under a sofa.
Portuguese detectives believe Madeleine’s parents know what happened and have even accused Kate of killing her — then helping her husband dispose of the body.
The McCanns strenuously deny ever harming the four-year-old. The Forensic Science Services in Birmingham have been working flat out for weeks since receiving samples collected from various locations.
It is believed detectives claim the report the FSS has provided already supports their position. A police source said: “The report makes very interesting reading. It backs up what we think happened.
