Among these pictures, only the last one can make me somewhat relieve a bit, as the children are studying in a bright classroom. But their daily school run can't make me have any happiness.
Nearly 500 Lisu ethnic minority children from Maji village in Fugong town, Yunnan province, are forced to cross a raging torrent on a wire cable stretched across the river to go to (back from) school each day. They fasten themselves to the cable with a metal carabiner and a rope and slide across the 200 metre wide canyon (in 5-6 seconds). As their Chinese national fellow, I am so worry about those children's safety.
Just can't believe that China, boasted having the world's largest forex reserve, can't spare some money building bridges for those most isolated villages, but having money to build/consume the world's third tallest building, world's longest trans-sea bridge, pure gold mooncake, pure gold heel shoes, and many many more other mega projects.
