People reported. The wedding ceremony was held at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Ruben "Velvet Teddy Bear" Studdard's hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. Surata Zuri McCants, 29, met Studdard, the 30-year-old who was
American Idol's season 2 champion, in October 2006, when he was signing CDs at a Wal-Mart in Atlanta.
