Rihanna appeared on NBC's Today Show hosted by Meredith Vieira on June 19, 2008. The Bajan singing sensation donned a ballerina-style black dress with a multi-colored ruffly skirt and a pair of black high heels. She was accessorized with a blue train conductor’s hat and a pair of giant round golden earrings.
Rihanna, full name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, wowed the audience of Today Show Morning Concert Series by performing three of her hit songs “Umbrella”, “Please Don’t Stop The Music”, and “Take a Bow” at the Rockefeller Center, New York City.
Speaking of being a cultural ambassador for her native country Barbados, the 20-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer said, “I am the official ambassador for cultural youth, which is perfect for me because I love dealing with young people. Barbados will always be home. They’re very, very supportive. They’re my backbone. It’s where I started. I couldn’t ask for a better place to grow up in.”
