XFX X-Gear Multimedia Gaming Headset
Loud, inline volume control, vibration feature that rumbles the headphones .
XFX are better known for NVIDIA-based graphics cards, but now they're expanding their folio by launching gaming accessories under the X-Gear range. They're launching gamepads for PCs and consoles, and also this new Multimedia Gaming Headset that we have for review today. The X-Gear Multimedia Gaming Headset, which we'll just call "the headset" from now on, is specifically designed for the gamers, keeping in mind their requirements of extra effects for all the five senses.
The X-Gear headset offers, in addition to sound, extra vibration for a very bass-heavy subwoofer-like effect. This isn't called a Force Feedback headset and should not be confused with that, since this headset simply takes lower frequencies and produces extra vibration on those. In contrast, a real Force Feedback headset takes signals from the software (mostly a game) and produces relevant, specific movements, like the pull of a steering wheel as you take a sharp turn at high speed or the recoil of a shotgun when you unload some lead into your foe.
